External Alarm Recipients
Description
ControlCom Connect alarms can now reach the people who actually respond to them, including contractors, on-call technicians and operators outside your organization, and only when you want them reached. This release also adds a fully offline mode for Edge Server and clearer connection history for every device.
Alert people outside your organization
You can now add external recipients to alarm groups without giving them a ControlCom Connect account. Manage them from Alarms administration or from the Team page.
SMS opt-in: recipients get a confirmation text and reply YES to start receiving alerts
Email opt-in and one-click unsubscribe: every external alarm email has an unsubscribe link, and anyone who opts out can be invited again later
Built for service contractors, integrators and after-hours call lists in water/wastewater, healthcare and commercial facilities
Notification schedules
Choose when external recipients get alerts. A notification schedule is a set of time windows for each day of the week, such as weeknights and weekends for an on-call contractor. You can attach a schedule to any external recipient, so alerts go to whoever is on duty and stop when they're off.
Longer alarm delays
Alarms now support a 30-minute delay. Slow-moving conditions like tank levels, temperatures and pressure drift can settle before anyone gets paged, which means fewer false alarms.
Edge Server offline mode
Edge Server can now be set up and run with no cloud connection. This works for air-gapped plants, remote sites and networks where outbound internet isn't allowed.
Set up an edge device entirely on the local network
Readings stay on the device as local history instead of waiting to upload
The overview shows local system status instead of cloud connection status, and its quick actions match what works offline
Device connection history
Device details now show how stable each connection is:
Connection uptime (7 days) and reconnect count at a glance
Connect and disconnect events appear in the device's recent activity, so you can line up dropouts with alarms and gaps in your data
Also in this update
Generator compliance reports now show the asset's address in the report header
AI assistants connected through the ControlCom Connect MCP endpoint can now create and update generator compliance reports, search alarm history, find threshold crossings in historical data, review command history and reuse templates from the ControlCom library
Invitations now say clearly when an invite link has expired, instead of failing at sign-up
Edge HMI kiosk dialogs and on-screen keyboard handling are smoother on touch panels
