ControlCom Technologies, LLC is a US-based company built by engineers and system integrators who also write code. We have spent years troubleshooting PLCs, configuring SCADA systems, and connecting equipment that was never designed to talk to anything outside its own panel. That experience taught us what was missing, so we built it: ControlCom Connect, a vendor-neutral platform for monitoring and analytics across any manufacturer's equipment, and the ControlCom Edge Server, the on-site runtime that connects to that equipment and keeps collecting even when the cloud is unreachable. The platform follows one workflow from end to end, Connect, Collect, Store, Analyze, Visualize, Report, Integrate, and AI, and every stage is documented step by step on our documentation site. Our platform comes from people who understand both the hardware and the software, because that is what it takes to bridge the gap.

Drew Hennemuth leads business development, working with the industrial teams that adopt ControlCom Connect. Both write on this site under their own names: Catalin on real-world facility monitoring, energy management, and the practical side of running an industrial IoT platform, and Drew on platform reliability and what continuous, outage-resilient monitoring means for the operations that depend on it. Resilience
A 15-hour AWS outage, with the record intact.
On October 20, 2025, Amazon Web Services suffered an outage that lasted roughly 15 hours and disrupted thousands of services worldwide. Edge Servers at our customers' sites kept capturing and storing operational data locally for the entire window, then synchronized everything back automatically once AWS recovered, with no manual intervention and no service dispatch. While operators on cloud-only systems were left with data gaps, our customers kept a complete, ordered record of everything that happened at their facilities. We published a first-hand account of the outage and our response two weeks later.

ControlCom Connect moves more than 300 million data points a month, arriving at 1,000 to 10,000 points per second from thousands of assets. The stack is PostgreSQL with TimescaleDB at both the edge and the cloud, which is why your data stays reachable with plain SQL and exportable at any time: if you ever leave, you take everything with you. Tiger Data, the company behind TimescaleDB, published its own case study on the architecture and those numbers.

The case studies on our blog name the numbers. A healthcare facility used its own metered record to overturn a utility bill that would have cost it more than $160,000. A hospital handed an engineering firm a complete energy study on the spot, instead of running the usual monitoring project that takes 3 to 6 months and costs up to $30,000. Another hospital discovered backup generators that had been left in manual mode after service. None of these were the reason the platform was installed. They are what showed up once the data was being collected.

ControlCom Connect holds a SOC 2 Type II report, available under NDA on qualifying plans. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, and the edge agent connects outbound only, so deploying it opens no inbound firewall ports on your network.
